Education; various provisions regarding student discipline and working conditions of teachers and other school personnel; revise
A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Chapters 2 and 14 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to elementary and secondary education and education accountability, respectively, so as to revise various provisions regarding student discipline and working conditions of teachers and other school personnel; to provide for an effective date and applicability; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

On the surface looks good. Needs research. This would remove discipline data from the CCRPI data, which is a good thing-schools would theoretically no longer need to falsify this information. It requires they discipline the children. They can still use restorative justice, but if the state mandate consequence is a tribunal, the school system will no longer have the ability to waive that. If a teacher is attacked or a student is attacked, their request to transfer must be honored as space permits, without retaliation.
